Here is a traditional recipe for Fish Tikka:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb fish fillets (such as salmon or cod), cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
Method:
- In a bowl, mix together yogurt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, paprika, red chili powder, salt, and oil.
- Add the fish pieces to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Preheat the grill to high heat. Thread the marinated fish onto skewers.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the fish is cooked through and browned on the outside.
- Serve the fish tikka hot with mint chutney or lemon wedges.
